Closed-loop agriculture systems meta-research using text mining

The growing global population and climate change threaten the availability of many critical resources, have been directly impacting food agriculture sector. Therefore, new cultivation technologies must be rapidly developed implemented to secure world's future needs. Closed-loop greenhouse systems provide an opportunity decrease resource reliance increase crop yield. Greenhouses versatility in what can grown resources required function. become highly efficient resilient through application a closed-loop approach that prioritizes repurposing, reusing, recirculating resources. Here, we employ text mining research available (meta-research) publications within area greenhouses. This meta-research provides clearer definition term “closed-loop system” context greenhouses, as was previously vaguely defined. Using this approach, identify six major existing topic areas systems, which include: models controls; waste; nutrient systems; media; heating; energy. Furthermore, four require further urgent work, include establishment better connection between academic industry applications; criteria surrounding media selection; operational requirements system; functionality synergy modules comprise systems.
